Hi, I'm Carolyn, a sewing machine nerd.
I'm an apprentice technician with Sewing Doc Academy, and fall in love with pretty much every sewing machine I meet.
I grew up in a sewing family where someone was always working on a project. I adored the things they made me, whether it was hair scrunchies when I was little, tailored formals when I was in high school, or beautiful quilts for my wedding and the births of my kids.
I sewed a little bit growing up, but I didn't really make it "my thing" until I was in my 20s and needed a creative outlet. Since I had a sewing machine that my mom and grandma gave me as a college graduation gift, I thought, why not start there?
I started by refashioning things I bought at the thrift store, and over the years learned that I most enjoy making comfortable clothes using garment patterns and yards of knit fabric. That machine from my college graduation is actually the one with me in the photo on this page. We've made a lot of fun stuff together over the years, and I still use it regularly.
While I only service standard sewing machines, I do appreciate the variety of machines available for home use. I love using my serger and coverstitch machines, and I recently bought a vintage Sears Franklin treadle that I'm restoring when I have time.
Please know that your sewing machine will be in very good hands with me! If you're ready to schedule servicing, you can use the Request Service button below. Or, if you'd like to know more about my process, visit the How it Works page.
