Can I just drop by anytime with my machine?

No. Since I work out of my home, I meet customers at a public location. Once you've scheduled your sewing machine servicing, I will schedule a time to meet you at Third Place Commons in Lake Forest Park (17171 Bothell Way NE, Lake Forest Park, WA 98155). There's plenty of parking, a fantastic bookstore right next to the commons, and a Chocolate Man shop and yarn store downstairs!

How long will I be without my machine?

My turn-around time is generally about two weeks. If you have an urgent need, we can discuss it when you schedule your servicing.

Do you do repairs?

Yes, on a limited basis. I'm an apprentice technician with Sewing Doc Academy and trained to safely remove each sewing machine's covers, properly clean inside, lubricate all moving parts, and troubleshoot stitch issues. As part of my process, I examine each machine and may be able to offer some basic repairs on a case-by-case basis. I've learned that a lot of times a machine that isn't working right just needs a good deep clean & lubrication, a new needle, and to be rethreaded. This is exactly what I do when I service machines! However, sometimes the problem is bigger than that, and I will be honest with you if your machine has an issue I'm unable to fix.

Can't I just service my machine myself?

Honestly, until I learned how to service sewing machines, I thought this too. There absolutely is some at-home maintenance you can and should do yourself--like brushing out lint and stray threads from the bobbin area and putting a drop of oil in a few easy-to-reach areas (check your manual). However, professional servicing involves safely removing the machine covers, deep cleaning, lubricating all the right moving parts, and doing an overall inspection. Skipping regular professional servicing will eventually slow down your machine and can cause bigger problems.
